The Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1977 and proudly serves the citizens of the Steep Hollow and Harvey Communities of Brazos County, Texas with fire, rescue, and EMS first responder services. Our department is supported by Brazos County Emergency Services District #3. Brazos County is located in east-central Texas, approximately 90 Miles northwest of Houston and approximately 150 miles southeast of Dallas. Our Coverage area is 140 square miles, protecting a population of approximately 11,000. We respond to calls for service along part of Texas State Highways 21 and 30 and as well as FM 1179 and FM 2038. Our response area is bordered to the east by the Navasota River (County Line), to the north by State Highway 21, and to the South and West by the Bryan & College Station city limits. Bryan and College Station are the two Major Cities in Brazos County. College Station is the Home of Texas A&M University, and the TEEX Emergency Services Training Institute, which is world renowned for it's Firefighting Classes.

2009 National Fire Trends
 
Precinct 3 VFD awarded $155,000 grant through the Texas Forest Service HB 2604 grant program for a Pumper-Tanker Truck.
This Pumper-Tanker replaces a 1981 American LaFrance Pumper Truck.
