Brazos County Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department has been offering fire protection to the citizens of Northeastern Brazos County since 1977. The department served 47 years fully run and staffed by volunteers until it became a combination department in 2025 with the institution of its first paid fire chief.
Brazos County Precinct 3 still boasts a roster of roughly 35 volunteers dedicated to responding to both fire and emergency medical calls for service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in their emergency service district.
Brazos County Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department is located in East-Central Texas and lies within the northeastern portion of Brazos County. The department’s service area is bordered by Highway 21 to the north, the Navasota River to the east, and the city limits of Bryan and College Station to the southwest. The department covers roughly 115.25 square miles with an annual call volume of over 800 emergency calls for service.
